Our Jersey cow, Kate, born January 2011. She's 3 years old in this photo.
Kate in June 2013. She was a healthy cow when we got her, ready to calve in September 2013.
Cornelius at 6 months old. He's now a steer. :)
Kate's bull-calf, Cornelius. Born healthy on 16 September 2013.
Trigger was born in 2010, we got him in August 2012. Though undernourished when we got him, he's now a happy, healthy, well-fed gelding!
Trigger the day after we brought him home. Trigger was loved by his previous owner, not abused physically, but she did not have the resources to feed him properly. She called several months later to see how he was doing.
Lilly was born in 2005 or 2006. We got her on 22 January 2013. Lilly is pregnant; due May 2014.
Lilly the day after we brought her home. She had a little weight to gain, rain rot, and she was never wanted. Each home Lilly had previously was because someone wanted a different horse and they had to "take her too."
Doyle, our Production Red rooster and his hens.
Due to many chicken deaths due to dogs and hawks, they now live in chicken tractors. The Buffs in one and the Production Reds in another. While we'd prefer to have them fully free-range, we'd also like to keep them alive. This is the best compromise we could find.
Cobra, our Buff Orpington rooster.
The dogs. June, our Black Lab and Wanda, our Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix.
Violet at 5 weeks, 2 days. She's growing into a fine lil pig!
Violet, the wild pig that wandered into our chicken pen on 16 February 2014. We think her mother was hit by a car down the road.
